Human Resources Management, Delivery Mode: Blended and Online

  • NQF Level: NQF Level 5
  • Duration: 6- 8 weeks
  • Credits: 8
  • Mode: Online

Purpose

Workplace conflict is a common and unavoidable reality in professional environments where people with different personalities, responsibilities, expectations, communication styles, and pressures work together. When conflict is not managed effectively, it can damage trust, reduce morale, weaken teamwork, interrupt communication, and negatively affect overall organisational performance.

In many workplaces, conflict does not begin with major incidents. It often develops gradually through poor communication, unresolved misunderstandings, competing priorities, personality differences, unclear expectations, or pressure related to performance and decision-making. Where these issues are ignored or handled poorly, they can escalate into deeper relational and operational problems that affect both individuals and the wider organisation.

For this reason, organisations increasingly value individuals who are able to identify the causes of workplace conflict, respond with maturity and professionalism, and apply structured processes to guide resolution. Effective conflict management supports healthier communication, protects working relationships, encourages accountability, and contributes to a more stable and productive workplace culture.

This Skills Programme is designed to equip learners with practical knowledge and applied techniques to identify workplace conflict, analyse conflict situations, and implement appropriate conflict management and resolution strategies. It places strong emphasis on communication, emotional intelligence, structured problem-solving, and constructive engagement between parties.

The purpose of this programme is to develop learners who can confidently respond to conflict situations in a professional manner, facilitate constructive dialogue, implement appropriate follow-up actions, and contribute to stronger workplace harmony and performance. Upon completion, learners will be able to engage conflict not merely as a problem to suppress, but as a workplace reality that can be managed in a way that restores cooperation and improves organisational functioning.

This programme is delivered in partnership with "Expert Project Training Solutions" and is accredited and quality assured by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO).
